Tax Code
There are a variety of opinions about the size and length of
the U.S. tax code. It started out much simpler
in 1913, the New York Times published all of
the required forms on one page.
Whatever the correct number (7,500 pages), its complexity
is legendary. For instance, GE (General Electric) has filed a 24,000 page
tax return the past two years. That`s an 8-foot high
stack of 8.5x11 paper.
It is estimated that the cost of complying with the
Federal tax code exceed $200 billion.
